I've Got a Dream

So, I love Disney, oh so much (as I plan for a trip in 26 days! First time woooo!)

I spent Boxing Day with Malkin and her family and ended the day seeing Tangled at the theater. Instantly there was discussions of "THIS HAS TO HAPPEN!" Especially when we saw her hair glow.

For the next twenty minutes we debated on how to make 75 feet of blonde hair into a wig. And then Disney made it BETTER. (sort of). So in January we began the hunt for the fabric (silly Disney changing her colours from pink to purple after the initial release....) and a base wig and matching wefted hair. Now what you can't see in this photo, is that there is EL Wire woven through the giant braid, so the wig GLOWS.

All in all there is really only ONE wig used, the rest is 11 packs of extension hair. It is one heavy beast, and poor Malkin can only wear the wig for about 40 minutes before death ensues.

Gothel and Rapunzel were entered into the Ad Astra 2011 Masquerade and won "Best Recreation" at the Master level. Ie the "DEAR GOD WHY ARE YOU SO CRAZY YOU DON'T NEED TO BE SO ACCURATE" award (which I also have for the Jill Valentine battlesuit......)
